Phew, milking the cows took a lot out of me... →
Although, I was having trouble staying focused on the cows because I kept wondering why I can’t be around the most fascinating people on earth.
Oh wait!
I’m the most fascinating person on earth, so there’s that.
One little post about NYC rent prices and the...

By the way, Peter Feld, I do get excited when a coffee shop gets built because I love me some coffee. Also, when I was rounding up my cattle last night, I realized I hadn’t churned the butter for today’s breakfast and let me tell you: you can’t get fresh-churned butter from your local NYC deli, can you? Come visit me on the farm sometime and I’ll show you...
I just took a nap...
And kept inching over to Brandon’s vacated side of the bed. I love cold sheets.
Why I could never live in NYC:
Reason #1: Julia Allison’s $2,550 apartment
Brandon and I pay half that for a two bedroom townhouse with close to 1,800 feet of living space, a full washer/dryer and a backyard. I am 30 minutes from DC by train, less than that by car and only 25 minutes from Baltimore.
I guess it all depends on your priorities or where your job leads you, but I’d have a hard time moving somewhere...

Two Names You Go By: Jackie and Jaclyn
Two things that scare you: Crowds in small spaces and small spaces with crowds (I hear you on the double fear, Tanya)
Two of Your Everyday Essentials: Coffee and mascara
Two Things You Are Wearing Right Now: Brandon’s t-shirt and my engagement/wedding rings
Two of Your Favorite Bands or Musical Artists: It changes day to day, mood to mood

Reclaiming A Passion
tmagconsulting:
Two weeks ago I got back on the bicycle in earnest. Having not ridden consistently in 15 years, and only casually for a week here and there—pain has become my best friend. It does not help that we live in foothills so regardless of where I ride, climbing is in the mix.
We’ve all heard the real battle in any exercise program is a mental one. To keep this under control, I...

Two words people: PAULA DEEN!!!
It’s the 2009 National Book Festival! See you there on 9/26/09!
You’ve made my day Tanya! Want to go together?
Love this!

I am obsessed with everything Liz over at Linda and Harriett does. She’s a Bates grad and Brooklyn resident (double awesome, right?) and made our beautiful wedding invitations. She just released her 2010 calendar, and each page doubles as a postcard. Too cute.
I’m so glad you posted a link to Linda & Harriett because their personalized notepads are adorable.
See?
I am determined to stay awake long enough to frost...
It would be a shame to go to bed without eating one, right? Must justify all that use of my pink KitchenAid electric mixer.

OH MAN.
Two Calvin Klein dresses and one Ellen Tracy for less than $40 total.
Do you hate me? Because I’m kind of jealous of myself right now. Pics to come.

Mushy gushy.
I don’t usually post things like this, so excuse me this once, but my favorite thing in the entire world is when I wake up in the morning and Brandon is still asleep with the covers all pulled up around him, snuggled into a little ball with both dogs curled up on top of him. My cold, bitter little heart just melts.
I know, I know, gag, gag, but it’s adorable.

Brandon's working late, so tonight's events:
Dinner
Top Chef
A bit of flute practice
Bath and reading
Planning some blog posts
Vacuum guest bedroom & master
Throw in a load of laundry
As you can see, I’ve got a tiny bit more to do before finishing for the evening.

Tip!
If you are a big coffee drinker like I am, try to drink two glasses of water per every 8 oz. of coffee. You’ll be running to the bathroom all day, but you won’t get dehydrated from the caffeine.
Everyone looks better with 7 more inches.
– Rachel Zoe
Agreed.
(via mufti)
So true, unless you’re already 6 feet tall (which I am) and then adding seven inches just makes you, uhh, either an Amazon, mutant or runaway basketball player. Then again, I do like walking down the street in platforms and watching the minions scatter.
You know stuff that you need but don't need right...
That’s the obstacle I’m coming across while cleaning up the last riff-raff of our move. Some of this stuff I’m just lost to place somewhere that’s accessible (i.e. not the attic) but also not visible.
On the bright side, I also found some fantastic items I had been missing that were still boxed up, like my pink KitchenAid mixer (!!) and my Pottery Barn bamboo wood cutting...
