Halloween!
When I was visiting my sister last weekend, we decided to visit a local Halloween shop to see if there were any interesting costumes.

Kratos was put on the “maybe” list. I don’t quite have the muscle tone to pull this off.

I did, however, want to buy this lifesize (over 6 foot) Michael Myers for our front porch, though. It raised the knife arm and played the Halloween soundtrack.

When my mom first saw this photo, she asked, “Why are you showing me this?” She didn’t realize my face was there. I don’t know whether it’s a good or a bad thing that I can morph into an animated character.
But, after much contemplation, Brandon and I have decided on our Halloween costumes.

Inspired by the life-size porch decoration, Brandon will be going as Michael Myers, and I…

Will be Laurie, blue buttondown and all, covered in blood, and running around like a crazy person. We’re going to figure out a way to rig up something so we can play the Halloween soundtrack as we stalk around.
This decision came after we had considered and thrown out the following ideas: Avatar (Brandon refused to wear a skintight blue suit); Watchmen (so 2009); Star Trek (also quite 2009); Alice in Wonderland (too elaborate); Supernatural (Sam + Ruby = jeans and jackets, not very thrilling), etc. etc. We really wanted to do a TV or movie tie-in, and this is what we settled on.
I can’t believe it’s already October, but I’m going to make the most of it since we only have this beautiful weather for a little while. I’m so excited to dress up for Halloween! We haven’t in several years. :)
Maybe we’ll have a Halloween house party. Anybody want to come?
P.S. Check out this post I did on awesome Halloween home decor last year.
