It was a little tense on the Metro this morning.

But nothing out of the ordinary. My commute was smooth, the Metro operator of my train was confident and kind and although the trains were more crowded than usual, there wasn’t as much pushing and shoving.

Metro has a bad reputation for delays and break-downs, but I was impressed by the organization and helpfulness I saw this morning. There were multiple Metro employees on the platform at Gallery Place/Chinatown (a major Red Line stop) directing people and offering advice or help.

When I got off my train at the Farragut North stop to walk to a work, a woman approached the Metro operator and leaned down to his window to say something. I hope she thanked him.
