I was watching The Tudors Season Two with Brandon over the weekend and got completely into the whole bell-sleeves with feathers and beading and oversized jewelry. I was even inspired today to drag out a shirt from my closet that I never wear due to its inherent unwearability: it’s a jewel-tone, satiny fabric with huge bell sleeves and is generally just difficult to wear. I toned down the sleeves with a cardigan, and voila!

If you’ve never seen The Tudors, then you should NetFlix a couple episodes, if only for the gorgeous fashion. It’s not quite Marie Antoinette, but it’s still inspiring. Even the menswear is on-trend with all the above-the-knee riding boots running around on-screen.
Check out Natalie Dormer, below, who plays the ill-fated Anne Boleyn on the series.

I went on a massive search for Tudors-inspired clothing and accessories that are also surprisingly easy to incorporate into the modern wardrobe.
