Holiday Gift Guide 2010 - Under $100

Phew! This gift guide is moving right along! (Don’t miss Bon Marche’s gift guides, starting today through Christmas.) Here are a few pretty luxurious splurges you can get for under $100.

1. Yves Saint Laurent Holiday Collection, $65 - This collection contains all YSL’s best-selling products for a crazy-good price. The cute makeup bag could double as a clutch in a pinch.
2. Jeffrey Campbell Over The Knee Rain Boots, $80 - A lot of people love Hunter rainboots, but I think these are a sleeker, more stylish alternative.
3. Aldo “Tauret” Wedge Boots, $80 - These look a lot more expensive than $80 boots and would go with almost anything: jeans, dresses, tights.
4. Anthropologie Grand Tour Loop Scarf, $58 - The warmest, coziest looking scarf.
5. Dogeared Hoop Earrings, $72 - Unique earrings that would look good for going out, but could also be worn at work.
6. Diptyque Limited Edition Orange Epicee Candle, $68 - Candle whores, take note!
7. Moleskine iPad Cover, $65 - A best-selling (and currently out of stock) iPad case for good reason! Don’t worry—they get new ones in stock regularly.
8. Thomas Paul Estate Jewelry Box, $8 (from $20) - I never wear my wedding band and engagement ring in the shower (too much paranoia), but I’m always looking for the perfect place to stash it during so I don’t worry about it being knocked off the counter, lost in my jewelry box, etc.
9. Big Buddha “Empire” Bag, $95 - I love the dove gray color!
Holiday Gift Guide 2010 - Under $50

Here are some of my favorite finds under $50. (Okay, one thing is $10 over the limit, but I couldn’t leave it out!)

1. Kate Spade iPhone Cover, $40
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops, $50 (pre-owned)
3. BDG Crossbody Bag, $38
4. Kiehl’s Lip Balm Set, $29
5. Marc Jacobs Daisy Body Butter, $35
6. Kate Spade “This Year I Will” Bangle, $48
7. Moleskine Pac-Man Special Edition Set, $28
8. Thomas Paul Luddite Beaker, $10 for one, $40 for set of four
9. Target Kaden Boots, $26 (from $35)
10. NARS Vintage Nail Polish, $16 each
11. ModCloth Cold Snap Mittens, $60
I was trying to choose my top picks from this bunch, but I really couldn’t. I love all the things here, but if I had to choose…the iPhone case, boots and body butter might take the win. For the significant other or video game fan in your life, Black Ops is a must-buy (if they don’t have it already!). If they prefer vintage video games, they’ll appreciate the Pac-Man Moleskine notebooks. Something for everyone!
On Monday, I’ll share my under $75 gift guide! Watch for it!
MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE AND GIVEAWAY!
ecosystem is an AWESOME company. I didn’t know much about them until they sent me a few notebooks and planners to try and I, a devoted Moleskine lover, have made the switch. The paper is a bit more hefty than Moleskine and I like the bright, fun colors. It’s also fun to enter in your code online and see where your notebook was made. The blue notebook above was produced or received ingredients from/in Maine, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Wisconsin and South Carolina.
Another fun thing to use the notebooks for: I like to jot down blog ideas while I’m on the Metro. I always get these genius ideas for posts on the train, but then I never have a pen or paper and writing them in my phone just isn’t the same. Besides that, I use my ecosystem notebooks to take down notes in meetings or at work and love the bit of color and style next to all the other plain yellow legal pads. Making my coworkers jealous, one cute office supply item at a time.
GIVEAWAY DETAILS!
You can win an awesome prize from ecosystem!
HOW TO ENTER:
- Leave a comment on this post explaining what you would use an ecosystem notebook for! (To draw? Make to-do lists? etc.)
You can enter this giveaway until midnight Monday, May 10.
The winner will be randomly selected and announced on Tuesday, May 11!
(I can’t wait for Tuesday!)

Sometimes my co-workers or friends will ask me why I don’t use iCal for my daily planning and organization. It’s a valid point: I use technology in every other possible area of my life, but when it comes to my daily planner, the paper is sacred! I like the physical pen-to-paper experience and there’s nothing better than crossing something off a list by scratching it out with a Sharpie until you can’t even read what it said.
Here are some of my picks for best daily planners to buy for 2010:
- Moleskine Daily Planner - $14 - There are a lot of variations on Moleskine’s daily planner, but my favorite is the day-per-page view to give you lots of room for writing.
- Cavallini Daily Planner - $32 - Megan used this daily planner when we were in college together and I loved the vivid colors. You can also get this embossed, so it makes a great gift.
- Lilly Pulitzer Organizer - $25 - Pretty, preppy and pink!
- Kate Spade Canvas Agenda - $75 - The ultimate in paper goods: everything Kate Spade does is beautiful and clean.
- Post Impressions Metallic Appointment Journal - $38 - Gorgeous metallic colors!
Inspiration : Office Space
This is one of my favorite collages—ever. I’m addicted to office supplies and paper goods and now that we’ve moved around desks in our office, I have a larger space to call my own. But, it’s very dreary and not at all decorated. I think I may ask for only office supplies for Christmas. If I spend 10 hours a day at my desk, I darn well want it to be attractive and inviting.
- NOT A Paper Cup - $12 - An eco-friendly solution to my coffee runs!
- 2010 Cavallini Wall Calendar - $22 - Gorgeous, vintage-style prints.
- Fred Flare Staple-Free Stapler - $9 - I’d do anything not to have to deal with the 15 staplers in our office that never, ever work.
- Magnetic Birdie - $16 - So cute! And, I lose paper clips all the time. Or, they float to the bottom of my pencil cup and I can’t get them out.
- Desk Tray - $8 - Keeps all of my most-used office supplies organized and close at hand.
- Animal Note Cube - $15 - Piggies! And such an upgrade over regular Post-Its.
- Moleskine 2010 Color-A-Month Daily Planner Set - $40 - OMG. How did I NOT know these existed?! I must put this on my Christmas list at once! Jera! Tell Brandon!
- 2009-2010 My Agenda Original - $16 - Another must-have!
- See Jane Work Composition Book - $8 - I fill about one steno pad a week at work, so paper products are in high demand. I’d like to class it up a bit with this chic design.
I have mostly affordable guilty (and some not-so-guilty) pleasures.
Forever 21 headbands, Real Housewives of Orange County, Chipotle, Target, Cosi, chemises and lingerie, Moleskine daily planners, Carmex chapstick, my flute, libraries, The Girls Next Door, Target’s Go International line and Lucky magazine.
