I wear denim shorts a lot during the summer. It helps to think of styling them the same way you would skinny jeans: a slouchier top usually looks better and 3/4 length sleeves are more flattering than a super short sleeve or cap sleeve. (But cap sleeves are never flattering so that’s a moot point.) Most of the time heels with denim shorts are a little too Coyote Ugly for me, but if you’re worried about your legs looking too short, a small wedge (less than 2”) is a good option. Otherwise, a t-strap sandal or any sandal with minimal straps will help your legs look longer.

Current/Elliott’s The Stiletto Jean is a spring bestseller, but I found two other options under $30 if you want to give destroyed denim a try without spending over $250 in the process. The Love 21 pair in the middle ($27.80) is a similar wash/length, while the American Eagle pair at right ($29.99) is a stretch jegging, so it’s probably really comfortable.
