I saw this tunic while shopping this weekend and it’s even cuter in person. I almost bought it, but I’m trying to cool it on buying any more striped items.

A dream t-shirt dress.

When you’re shopping, you occasionally stumble upon certain things you just know you’d wear all the time and that you’d be able to incorporate with dozens of items you already own. This is one of those things for me.

A pretty dress for spring, especially when paired with nude ballet flats.

I rarely post items over $100, but I had to make an exception for this leather-trim and wool dress. I’d wear it with black tights, wedge booties and a bright scarf—maybe pink?

This dress isn’t on sale and it’s not necessarily a great deal, but add it to your list of items to watch so when it goes on sale you can snap it up. (LOFT has so many regular sales that I rarely buy anything retail from them.)
Besides being adorable, this is also a great transitional dress that can be worn year-round with different accessories. (Wedges in summer, tights and boots in winter.) I want it only because I know it would become an instant closet staple for me. I can think of a million ways to wear off of the top of my head…and I don’t even own it. Yet.

Heads up! Gorgeous (holiday?) party dresses by Taylor on Swirl today and all are under $100.
I’m partial to this full skirted sateen one myself. (It’s $89 from $205). Wear it with leopard pumps!

Hi Jaclyn, I’m going to attend a few holiday parties this year that are semi-formal. I am usually cold, even indoors, so in years past I have thrown on a black cardigan to keep warm. I always feel frumpy or under dressed with a cardigan, but don’t particularly like the idea of a shawl (I’m only 26). This year I am upping the ante by renting designer dresses from Rent the Runway, so I want to look extra polished and sophisticated. Do you have any suggestions?

I love Rent The Runway! I think it’s a great option for holiday parties and events.
Here’s an outfit I put together using one of Rent The Runway’s dresses. If you tend to get cold at events and use a pashmina or a shawl, I’d suggest trying to find cocktail-length dresses with sleeves and pair them with sweater tights for extra warmth. You may find this is enough to get you through without an extra layer, but a tuxedo-style jacket can look good over dresses like this if you want more coverage.
Ring: Kohl’s Crystal Ball Ring, $18
Bracelet: Ettika Gold “Rondelle” Bracelet, $49
Booties: Vince Camuto “Jerrell” Bootie, $89
Dress: Rent The Runway Pencey Dress, $75 (retails for $520)
Blazer: H&M, $60
Tights: Nordstrom “Love” Sweater Tights, $28
Lipstick: Clinique Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick in Cranberry Creme, $14.50
