In the hierarchy of my jewelry expenditures, I usually go first for rings, then bracelets, then necklaces and finally — earrings. But, these two chevron-themed earrings caught my eye right off the bat…and their prices aren’t too shabby either.

Left: Gorjana Chevron Earrings, $55

Right: House of Harlow 1960 Chevron Earrings, $59

This is also an acceptable stand-in for abominable heart jewelry.

It’s a universal truth that most men love to buy heart jewelry for Valentine’s Day. Sample thought process: It’s a heart! It’s Valentine’s Day! A heart ON Valentine’s Day! This makes perfect sense, right?
Wrong. Because after the dust settles, you’re stuck trying to figure out how to wear this beauty:

Here’s a little PSA: heart jewelry can be nice, but you’ll have to do some creative searching and (don’t forget this) avoid Zales at all costs.
Take, for example, the little gold studs at the top of this post. Discreet and minimal, they look more sweet than tacky. (And they’re under $100, so think of the money you’d save if you’d be planning on going for this number instead.)
If earrings aren’t your thing, try this gold ring instead:

(You can’t lose going with Kate Spade + 12k gold.)
Good luck and Godspeed!
Arena CPH Heart Studs, $80
Kate Spade Mini Heart Ring, $48

Brandon has to beg me every Christmas/birthday/anniversary to give him some gift ideas because more often than not I simply say, “How about a Kindle gift card?” Or, “Let’s just go away for the weekend and that can be my gift.” But, while I think these are great ideas, he prefers a more specific list from which he can pick and choose.
Well, Brandon—here’s a specific idea for you! I love this chic little gold ring and the initial is the icing on the cake.

I love resin jewelry. It’s easy to find at thrift shops and vintage stores, but it’s seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years too and now comes in all sorts of colors and styles. It’s often used to mimic jewel-like stones (see #1 and #9), but I think my favorite use is in bracelets (#8) and unusual earrings (#6).
Here are a few pieces I found under $100:
ASOS Necklace, $7.30
Trina Turk Ball Ring, $75
Kenneth Jay Lane Chandelier Earrings, $75
Rane Lapis Resin Ring, $50
Kate Spade Double Exposure Earrings, $78
Topshop Door Knocker Earrings, $28
House of Harlow 1960 Ring, $80
Lulu Frost for J.Crew Bangle, $40
Blu Bijoux Necklace, $24
House of Harlow 1960 Ring, $75
Kenneth Jay Lane Ring, $75

I know posting two pairs of earrings in a row is a little much, but I love these chevron stripe drop earrings and figured a bunch of you chevron addicts would as well.
