MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE & GIVEAWAY!
I wore this necklace courtesy of Lia Sophia yesterday and wanted to tell about it!
This is Lia Sophia’s Glamorama necklace ($78) and I love it for Mother’s Day because even if you already have a gift for mom—or just want to get a little something for yourself—this necklace was specially designed for Dress for Success and a portion of the proceeds go to them as well. So, you are not only getting something for yourself or your mom, but you are also helping a charity that helps women—and mothers—get back on their feet.
Here is a close-up of the necklace:

Mother’s Day Idea!

Spreadshirt read my post about my Mother’s Day panic attack and came to my rescue with this free hoodie!
I really like customizable items—I’ve done t-shirts before for some events I’ve worked on and of course, our holiday cards (that we never sent out, but that’s another story…) and a few other things. I like being able to design myself exactly what goes on the tee or sweatshirt—and I’d never really thought about doing a customized hoodie for my mom, but came up with a great idea!
First of all, my mother is not just a mother to my sister and I. She’s got Brandon now, for one, and two, she treats her dog Madison like a child. (I can’t judge, I do the same to Molly & Milo.) Speaking of Molly and Milo, she calls them her grandpuppies. When we reference my mom to Molly & Milo, she is referred to as “Nana.” Lots of craziness!
So I got this great idea to make an image in Photoshop of ALL my mom’s kids: dogs, son-in-law and actual daughters.
Here’s what I came up with:

From left: Milo (or Molly); Madison; Brandon; Me; Jera (my sister); Molly (or Milo)
Then, I went to Spreadshirt’s custom tee section and uploaded the graphic:

Then, because I wanted to add a little something extra, I put “Happy Mother’s Day” on the front:

It was easy and fast and my mom wears hoodies all the time—around the house, after the pool, going to the movies, while she’s teaching, while they are grilling food—so I know she’ll actually wear it. (Sometimes it’s hard to buy my mom clothes…she’s as picky as I am. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.)
Now to wait and see how it looks in person! It should be here by Friday and I can’t wait!
