I saw this tunic while shopping this weekend and it’s even cuter in person. I almost bought it, but I’m trying to cool it on buying any more striped items.

Because a drawer full of striped tees is still a drawer without THIS striped tee.
Gap Striped Dolman-Sleeve T, $18.71 (from $25)

This dress isn’t on sale and it’s not necessarily a great deal, but add it to your list of items to watch so when it goes on sale you can snap it up. (LOFT has so many regular sales that I rarely buy anything retail from them.)
Besides being adorable, this is also a great transitional dress that can be worn year-round with different accessories. (Wedges in summer, tights and boots in winter.) I want it only because I know it would become an instant closet staple for me. I can think of a million ways to wear off of the top of my head…and I don’t even own it. Yet.
LOFT Rugby Stripe Sweater Dress, $89.50

This shirt is the perfect slouchy striped tee and the neutral colors go with everything. I’m wearing it now with a camisole and will wear it post-baby with a canvas jacket and jeans. (It also costs as much as a latte and pastry from Starbucks. No guilt!)
Old Navy Jersey Top, $8 (from $27)

Sparkle + stripes + J.Crew - it’s basically a street style wet dream in sweater form. Wear now with skinny wool trousers and in the spring with a pencil skirt.

Stripes & sequins

I’d had my eye on this striped shirt at Target with sequin-covered shoulders for a while, but didn’t get it because (if you haven’t noticed) I’m pregnant and buying clothing isn’t exactly high on my priority list right now. However! The other day I was browsing the clearance section and it was marked down to $10 or something like that and somehow (not sure how this happened) it ended up in my basket and then I paid for it and now it’s in my closet. It was all a blur, really, and I blame the baby.

- Scarf (Gift) (Similar from 525 America)
- Target Boat Neck “Artist” Tee
- H&M MAMA Skinny Pants (Similar from ASOS)
- Target Boots (Similar from Charlotte Russe)
Also: H&M Gray Tank, Pink Earrings (Gift) (Similar from The Limited)
Quick note about these pants: they are a deep, deep indigo (almost black, but really just the inkiest blue) and made of the softest material. They’re maternity pants with a panel, but fit great through my hips—which has been hard to find with maternity pants. If you’re looking for a good maternity pant, try H&M!

[I had so far resisted this classic “I’m pregnant and love hugging my stomach” pose!]

Off-white after Labor Day

Truth: I am having a shitastic, no-good, very-bad, sucky sucky, hate all the things day. That probably shows in what I chose to wear…which is okay, but not great. I’m at an awkward place with my wardrobe, where I fit some things, but very few of them, and it’s (frankly) a little discouraging. Another thing: My body temperature fluctuates so much that it’s hard for me to pick one style and go with it. Jeans feel too hot and constricting, but a dress seems too flimsy. Whine, whine, whine.

- Old Navy Shirt
- Nimli Scarf
- Forever21 Bracelets
- J.Crew Toothpick Cord
- Old Navy Rain Boots

Blah. Happy almost-Fashion Week. Whatever. I’m going to go wallow now.
Is it fall yet?

Did you catch my Old Navy post yesterday? Well, if you did, here’s the striped sweater in action! Given that today’s the first day of September, I thought that this sweater and some army green cargo skinny pants would do proper homage to my favorite season of the year. I’m hooking these pants together with a hair band, but you can’t imagine my relief that at least they still fit over my ass.

Under the weather

I think I’ve caught a cold or some other bug because I’ve been feeling worse and worse over the past few days. If I can slip in a nap tonight, it will be the perfect Thursday night.
I can’t wait until the weather gets warm and stays that way so I can haul out my new rompers and dresses and sandals.

1. Old Navy Scarf
2. Forever 21 Striped Sweater (it came with shoulder pads—I removed them)
3. Jeans from Marshall’s
4. Nine West Moccasin Flats
(Pictured below: Michael Kors watch, Forever 21 ring)
These jeans are really comfortable, but my only complaint is that they’re a little…drafty. Not great for a cooler day, and especially not great when I’m getting sick! As far as the moccasins are concerned, I bought them in DC one day when my heeled boots started giving me blisters and they were a great impulse, COMFORT-PLEASE buy. I don’t wear them as often as I should, considering how comfortable they are!

Here’s how to get the look for yourself:

1. Puma Scarf, $17.50
2. American Eagle Jeans, $40
3. Forever 21 Nautical Stripes Sweater, $9
4. Delias Moccasin Flats, $25
Easy chic

The quickest way to a chic look is by wearing stripes, preferably red and white or navy and white (black and white is trickier: a little more prison-like). I found this red shirt over the weekend and it was love at first glance. (Even love at first glance at the price tag, being as it was only $13.)
I’m starting to get antsy for spring, trying to wear more peep toe shoes and more sweaters/less coats, but the weather is so unpredictable right now that half the time I’m fine and the other half…well, I’m shivering. Come on, spring!

1. Target Jacket
2. H&M Aviator Sunglasses
3. H&M Shirt
4. H&M Wide-Leg Jeans
5. Target Wedges
This is a fun, reliable, easy look and the wide-leg jeans are a nice change from the skinny jean silhouette. These jeans have such a dark wash that I’ve passed them off as trousers before. A lucky find!

Here’s how to get the look for yourself:

1. Forever 21 Blazer, $24.80
2. Forever 21 Top, $19.80
3. Gap Wide-Leg Jeans, $69.50
4. Ann Marino Peep-Toe Wedges, $45
