So I've recently started a new job -- it's at a laid-back software company with a start-up feel. Jeans and flats in the office are fine, but I'm curious as to what you would suggest for tops! Where's a good starting point for that very casual, yet stylish, but not-too-stuffy look?
Here are a few ideas for you!
From left to right:
- I like this J.Crew tee ($45) because it’s casual but still stylish enough for a laid-back office. Add a pretty necklace (or a few bracelets) and some colorful flats. You could layer it under a cardigan or a blazer too.
- Start with a simple Topshop striped tank ($56) and add an interesting jacket, like this textured Go Make Noise jacket ($70). A contrasting print on your shoes, like leopard flats, would be cute…but if that’s too funky, swap them out for simple black or taupe ones.
- I like a chambray top (the one above is from J.Crew, but this one from Nordstrom is a bit cheaper) with a classic pullover (Gap, $39.95). Wear with skinny black pants or jeans and add these Gap flats.
- This Zara blouse is so pretty—it will look great this spring by itself or you can wear it now with a jacket. The print is big and bold, so keep the jewelry simple (the necklace above is from Baublebar). I love contrasting black and white with spring colors, so these pink wedges ($69) from TOMS are perfect.
