I am a recent convert to the puff coat. I went for years shivering it out for the sake of style and fashion, but designers have seen the light and realized that warm does not equal sleeping bag.
If you still don’t have a warm winter coat, consider this Calvin Klein puff jacket. Beware: this coat does contain real down filling. I have a few friends that won’t wear real down and I don’t want to lead you astray!
Stay warm this winter—learn from someone who did it the hard way. Puff is always superior to wool.
Calvin Klein Puffy Jacket, $72 (from $200). Contains real down filling. Comes in black or white.

These Target gloves are so pretty and so functional, it’s probably the best $9 you’ll spend on winter attire all season.
You know how frustrating it is to be wearing gloves in sub-zero temps and you suddenly have to respond to a text or an e-mail and you have to peel off your gloves or mittens to reply?
Well, then, you get smart: I’ll just get fingerless gloves. That’ll work! Except then you’re risking frostbite from your poor fingertips being exposed to the elements.
There’s always the fingerless gloves with mitten-overlay option, but how much cuter is this instead?
These gloves have button loops on the thumb and first finger so you can simply fold over those fingers on the gloves and type away on your cell phone of choice.
Perfect!

This jacket embodies everything I hate about winter coats (puffy, filled with down, etc.), but sometimes you’ve got to take the plunge and get one of these portable sleeping bags in order to make it through the winter. Wool is only good to a certain point and then you have to break down and wrap yourself in a feather-stuffed marshmallow.
I will grudgingly oblige this evil necessity and start looking for a puff to call my own.
This one? Not so bad as far as puffs go.

Tracking Trends : Scarves for Men—and How to Wear Them
The inspiration for the post hit me like a flash this morning as my husband pulled on his coat and grabbed his scarf as we walked out the door.
“I never know how to wear scarves,” he said, as he just draped it over his shoulders. I showed him a couple different ways as we walked, but he remained unconvinced.
If you’re wondering the same thing, here are a couple different examples of how to wear scarves—and one example of how not to.

- Take the loop one step further and tie the ends of an extra-long scarf up close to your neck.
- Buy it: Gray Slinky Wrap Scarf

- A few more great examples of how to wear different styles and fabrics.

- And last: if your scarf looks like a sleeping bag tied around your neck, you’re doing it wrong.
